All my work is about portraying the vitality, essence and joy of a moment.
I was inspired to paint this scene by the tunnel of trees that overhang the Thames path and the curve of the river as it flows under Putney Bridge at what is the start of the BOAT RACE in this wonderful south west London Park.
I felt the trees reaching for the water and shading the walkers below in a magical enclosure.
I particularly wanted to capture the way the light burst through the trees on this summers day and celebrate the comings and goings of the people.
