What a hugely inspiring view this is! The people in Wandsworth Park, the Mid-tide carving of the foreshore by the river, the birds on the nature pontoons, the light on the river, the amazing London Plane trees and the three bridges - District Line tube, footbridge and Putney Bridge - all in one place.
Although this beautiful piece is happily now sold, you can still see it at the outdoor Thames Tideway Hoardings Gallery on Carnwarth Road London. It is also being featured on film as part of the Thames Festival which runs annually during the whole of September.
I painted it as a result of being invited by the Thames Tideway giant engineering project to take part in a competition to paint a view of the Thames between Wandsworth Bridge and Putney Bridge that would impart how it inspires us.
